After the tax collector- Zacchaeus met Jesus, he confessed his sins and his life was changed! The sinful woman was forgiven and her life was changed after meeting Jesus too. There are a lot more story about changing life after meeting with Jesus and the old has gone and the new life always began. The sinful men and women were forgiven, the sick were healed. Have you ever met with Jesus?
Many wanted follow Christ where ever he goes, but Jesus usually told them to go back home. This is one of Jesus missions strategy. One day, Jesus arrived in the region of the Gerasense. As soon as Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came from the tombs and met Jesus. The demon possessed man had been living in the tombs and could no longer be restrained, even with chains. But he had broken the chains and shattered the shackles. No one had the strength to subdue him.
When the demon possessed man saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees before Him. And he shouted in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You before God not to torture me.” Jesus declared, “Come out of this man, you unclean spirit!” The Demons came out from the man and Jesus sent the demons (also known as Legion for they are many) to the pigs and they enter to the pig.
The man who had been possessed by the demons begged Jesus to go with him. But Jesus would not allow him and told him that “Go home to your own people, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy He has shown you.” Jesus want to share your testimony to your family and your people. It is what Jesus commissioned to the man and to you.
When Jesus travel through Samaria, he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. The Samaritan woman, who was sinful, have had 5 husbands come to the Jacob well to draw water. Jesus asked her to give a drink but the Samaritan woman said to him, “you are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” That time, Jews do not associate with Samaritans. But the Gospel, the Kingdom of God is for every nations.
Jesus answered her, “If you know the gift of God (which is Jesus who died for our sins) and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” But the woman didn’t understand first and she asked Jesus that you have nothing to draw with the well is deep, where can he get this living water?
Many Christian, we see the big picture of what we don’t have, how impossible even when Jesus is with us- just like this woman. I am young, I am just a girl or woman, I am not educated, I am not good at speeches, or I am not a good person to do a good things. John 4:1-
But when the Samaritan woman know who she speaking with, Jesus. She runs back to the village and what did she does? She shared everyone about the One she just met, Jesus. Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony. The woman brought people from her village to Jesus, many received Salvation 2 days.
Are you a follower of Christ? The command is “Go and make disciple”, have you ever done sharing about what you beliefs about Jesus to your family, friends, wife, husband, co-workers, class-mate, community (village) and the nations?
