Tools for changing life

In my journey of serving the Lord, my hope to see in the ministry is that people who life is changed and live a new life after meeting with the Lord, Jesus. I have seen hundreds of those people and always picture in my head about their background, how their life changed and amazing fruit in their life; every time i meet them again.

In the mission training that Jesus taught to His Disciples for 3 years, there are strategy that Jesus’s teaching to change the life of the nations. Basically, May i describe a few of them in this page.

Jesus washes twelves disciples, not eleven: Who are the tools that Jesus uses to change the world. John 13:1 tell us that Jesus loved all of His disciples “to the end”. But who are the disciples?

1) Peter denied Jesus, 2) Judas sold Jesus, 3) all other disciples fled and frightened,

4) What about you?

Have you ever denied Jesus, Sold Jesus, or flee and so frighten to answer His call? The disciples didn’t deserved Jesus love, neither you and I. But Jesus love us until the end.  Jesus use those who were not perfect, sinful people to changed the world. God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. You don’t need to be perfect because God is perfect and He want to use you as a tools for changing many life. You can’t love your enemy, your neighbor? But God love them just like He loves you! Ask God “Lord, Love this man through me.” because Love is the best weapon to change life, that is what God used, and using and will use.

Jesus come to the world to serve not to be served and he teaches us to serve, think of others by example of washing His disciples’s feet. When he teaches, he used towel, basin and water which we can see but the main important thing that we can’t see and move those materials was Jesus’s humble or servant heart.

Most people ready to fight for the throne, but difficult to pick up the towel. When i was in the middle of celebration for my Doctor of Ministry, friends and family brought so many wonderful gifts to me. My sister also killed a pig for feast (this is showing joyfulness in traditionally). My father stood up and gave me a gift which was wrapped and he asked me to open it in front of many people who came to the celebration.

I opened it with expecting of Golden ring in it, or some valuable jewels. But it was a small towel, I at first felt “worst gifts” and he said, “I paid this towel 25 Kyats (which is less than 1 cent) from the street, i gave it to you because you completed the training, and now you are to serve. You will use to wipe the tears, and sweat of others.” Later, the gifts that my father gave me on the graduation day is my favorite, stamped in my heart.

One day, I got a phone call from a member of the church that i pastored in Yangon. Asking me to visit their neighbor, the husband left, she is only 25, a year old daughter and she has been struggle with HIV/AIDS. I knocked the door, no one answered but I heard baby crying very weak. So i push the door and it open with the terrible smile flown to my face. The baby was there in the corner lying, hungry and crying weakly.

Mommy was on the bed, with vomit, full wound infected on her body because of the diseases. She was speaking, but i could not hear well. She was so weak, just waiting to die on her own bed. She knows me, and asked me, “Saya (pastor), please help,… pray for me.” I said, I will, but waits.

I cleaned up the vomit on the floors and on the beds, I put all the trash, bloody clothes, and wasted foods to the plastic bag. I wiped her body, wound with water and towel. Fed mom and the baby, shared the love of God, the story of Jesus. At the same day, she become a believer!

Love is the character of our God and the new commandment of Christ, and serving is the outcome of LOVE. Those are the tools for changing the life of many. The outcome of love is mission, and for accomplishment of mission, we must use the tools.

All by One

After the tax collector- Zacchaeus met Jesus, he confessed his sins and his life was changed! The sinful woman was forgiven and her life was changed after meeting Jesus too. There are a lot more story about changing life after meeting with Jesus and the old has gone and the new life always began. The sinful men and women were forgiven, the sick were healed. Have you ever met with Jesus?

Many wanted follow Christ where ever he goes, but Jesus usually told them to go back home. This is one of Jesus missions strategy. One day, Jesus arrived in the region of the Gerasense. As soon as Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came from the tombs and met Jesus. The demon possessed man had been living in the tombs and could no longer be restrained, even with chains. But he had broken the chains and shattered the shackles. No one had the strength to subdue him.

When the demon possessed man saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees before Him. And he shouted in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You before God not to torture me.” Jesus declared, “Come out of this man, you unclean spirit!” The Demons came out from the man and Jesus sent the demons (also known as Legion for they are many) to the pigs and they enter to the pig.

The man who had been possessed by the demons begged Jesus to go with him. But Jesus would not allow him and told him that “Go home to your own people, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy He has shown you.” Jesus want to share your testimony to  your family and your people. It is what Jesus commissioned to the man and to you.

When Jesus travel through Samaria, he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. The Samaritan woman, who was sinful, have had 5 husbands come to the Jacob well  to draw water. Jesus asked her to give a drink but the Samaritan woman said to him, “you are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” That time, Jews do not associate with Samaritans. But the Gospel, the Kingdom of God is for every nations.

Jesus answered her, “If you know the gift of God (which is Jesus who died for our sins) and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” But the woman didn’t understand first and she asked Jesus that you have nothing to draw with the well is deep, where can he get this living water?

Many Christian, we see the big picture of what we don’t have, how impossible even when Jesus is with us- just like this woman. I am young, I am just a girl or woman, I am not educated, I am not good at speeches, or I am not a good person to do a good things. John 4:1-

But when the Samaritan woman know who she speaking with, Jesus. She runs back to the village and what did she does? She shared everyone about the One she just met, Jesus. Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony. The woman brought people from her village to Jesus, many received Salvation 2 days.

Are you a follower of Christ? The command is “Go and make disciple”, have you ever done sharing about what you beliefs about Jesus to your family, friends, wife, husband, co-workers, class-mate, community (village) and the nations?

What is next?

Why not call?

Are you stressful? Are you struggle in your life and or your future?

Jonah 1:6 – The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

Read the book of Jonah! The Lord God called Jonah but Jonah ran from the Lord. How many times you turn your back to the call of God? Do you ever ignore Him? Jonah did. Many of the person in the Bible were called and they said, “I am only a youth”* Jeremiah 1:6-7,  “I am slow at speech” *Exodus 4:10, “permit me to say good-bye to those at home” *Luke 9:61. etc… they all are not ready. But God call…you are not ready…but the call is still the same… and God want to hear from you that”I am here, send me”

When God call Jonah, Jonah run. But God still followed him, God was with him even in the middle of storm in life. God want you to turn back to him and call him in every situation of your life. Unbelievers and Jonah were about to lose their life in the sea for dangerous storm. Everyone called their gods except Jonah, because he slept. No one answered those unbelievers prayer! But when Jonah turned back to God and called Him. God was there to answer His servant Jonah, and he and his friends are saved. God want to save you and your family, friends, co-workers, classmate…it is not too late to turn back to God.

You are more than something, you are important to God. You are His image, He deposit His power in you, you can do something better. Jesus said that “he will be with you” on your journey of life. Raise up!

Do not wait until the unbeliever remind you to call your Living God! It is time to call who promised you “Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mgihty things, which you know not.” Jeremiah 33:3.

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

Why not call Him now?

Miracles on Faith and Words

There are dozens of miracles happened in the Bible. Why that happened? Miracles happens only with the work of Faith and Words of God! Lets look at some of the miracles:

  1. Apostle Peter walk on the water Not because his feet are too flat and big to walk on the water But because Jesus told him to come to him, and the faith Peter had. But remember Peter beginning to sink because he saw the wind and afraid. Do not afraid during middle of storms in your life but put on Faith in Christ and you will see miracle. Matthew 14:22-23
  2. When Jesus said to Peter, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. It was a miracle, they didn’t catch the whole night, and their net and boat were the same materials they used that night. You will see miracle when Jesus is commander in chiefs and you follow His commands.
  3. Joshua said in the sight of Israel, “O sun, stand still at Gibeon, And O moon in the valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. The sun and the moon did not hear Joshua voice, or Joshua voice was not too loud to be able to hear by sun and moon. But there was no day like that before it or after it, when the LORD listened to the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel….again, the LORD hear the voice of Joshua. Our Lord is able! Joshua 10:13. God hear you, Call Him with Faith and miracle will follow!
  4. In the story of the Fall of Jericho, the trumpets of rams’ horns and the priests did not have power to make the wall of the city fall down flat. The miracle happened because of the command of God and the obedience of Joshua and his people.  Joshua 6:20
  5. In the story of crossing the red sea, Israelites  were in the middle of red sea and the king of Egypt and his army. And the king and his army marching against the Israelites. The lives of Israelites were in danger because the Egyptian army, with all the hourses, chariots and drivers, pursued them and caught up with them where they were camped by the Red Sea near Pi Hahiroth and Baal Zephon. When the Israelites saw the king and his army marching against them, they were terrified and cried out to the Lord for help. They said to Moses, “Weren’t there any graves in Egypt? Did you have to bring us out here in the desert to die?”Moses told them not to afraid. Remember there is no power in the walking stick that Moses hold out over the sea. But the water divided and the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. Moses doesn’t have power. Men and materials are useless without God. Miracle of crossing the red see and the promised land are the planed of God for His people. Listen God, Obey God, Follow God, Wait God and He will show you miracle in your life…there is a promised, and planed for you. Trust the LORD. Exo 14
  6. Remember this, Daniel will definitely scared of Lion and to be throne in to the Den of lion. But Daniel also know that God is faithful and God will be with him always. Daniel and the unbelievers, king Darius saw the miracle not because that Lion was so weak, or so full, but because God was with his faithful servant. Daniel 6
  7. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego will not happy to go the fiery furnace which was blazing fire. But they are faithful to God like their friend, Daniel. They chose to be cast bound into the midst of fire than worshiping the king golden image. Nebuchadnezzar and his fellow saw the miracle in the fire – three men were cast but there were four in the fire!
  8. When David killed Goliath by stoned, they only reason was neither the stone that David used nor the strength, armor, and bronze helmet. The only reason that the people of Philistine and the army of Saul’ saw the miracle was the Faith of David in God. How big is your faith?  1 Samuel 17
  9. One of the most interesting stories in the Gospels is the account of the sick woman who touched Jesus’ gown and was healed. There is no power in Jesus’ gown! But the power of Jesus gone out from him and the women who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years had been immediately healed. The mighty power of our Lord will come to you and you will see miracle if you have faith like this woman. Luke 8:43-48
